Great article. When I visited the Philippines, what struck me was how well my family members knew their neighbours. People would regularly come over to say hello, have something to eat and chat, even without making an appointment and it was totally fine. People were much less territorial and overwhelmingly welcoming to their guests. 

I think worship of self and that busyness is a virtue has totally destroyed the priority of community.</description>
